Kudos are great link bait

One of the things that seo experts talk about in blogging are different hooks. An effective hook is a great tool to gain links to your site. One of the oldest and still most successful is the ego hook. Recognition. We all like it. I mean, who doesn't like to be recognized for their hard work and success, right?

One of the easiest posts you can put it up is a top ten list. You see them everywhere. People have a tendency to look at them, because it doesn't take a lot of time and most importantly, its scannable. Looking through my logs I found a link from top10inlasvegas.com, Blogs: Top Ten in Las Vegas. My stand alone blog came in at number 7. Back in November when the Blog expo was in town, conference organizer Rick Calvert took a look at the Las Vegas blogosphere and put a together a list of his top picks on the Las Vegas Weekly.  Vegas over all took a B+.

So many website owners get stingy when giving out links. Remember, big brother looks at who links to you as well as who you link to. Linking to other strong sites and blogs is not a bad idea at all. The more you link out and give, the more links you're likely to receive from others. -Charles

Talkin' smack in the press

There was an interesting article in our local newspaper, the Las Vegas Review Journal. At first glance, it seemed like a typical notice----another project cancellation, this time, it was Spa Lofts. What made it unusual were the quotes from another developer in town. I put up a post up about the cancellation and included his remarks. In fairness, the developer's project is selling but you think he went a little too far?  All's fair in love and business?-Charles

Living green in Sullivan Square

sullivan squareLooking for something beyond the standard fare in high rise living? Want to live in an environmentally friendly community that co-exists with the environment and promotes green living?  Then Sullivan Square is the community you've been looking for.

The exterior design of the towers is reminiscent of turn of the century architecture, giving the community a downtown feel. Residents have a choice of living options: high rise condos, penthouses, mid-rise, lofts, live/work and brownstones. Community amenities include a bark park, 1.5 acre central park, pool, barbeque area, guest suites and more. There is also office space and retail inside the community. Residents will be able to shop at local stores, pick up dry cleaning or grab a quick bite to eat all without leaving the community.

Sullivan Square will be a LEED certified project. Residents can expect to see a 25% savings on their utilities and roughly 42% on real estate taxes over the next 7 years. The community will utilize the latest energy saving techniques and will even have its own water treatment facility to reclaim grey water for landscape irrigation and cooling systems.

Boulder City Homes

boulder city artThe sleepy little town of Boulder City is shedding that image in favor of a more hip, artsy place to live. Boulder City has spent a considerable amount of money making improvements to the downtown area, including information about the history of the town and featuring local artists and their work.

There are few choices when it comes to brand new homes due to the strict growth policy, but they are still available in two communities, Tuscan Retreat and Lake Mead View Estates. There are also some recently completed neighborhoods like Bella Vista plus some very well maintained older neighborhoods with views of the lake like Regatta Pointe and Key Largo. All of these communities are located off of US 93 heading towards Lake Mead.

If you are looking for a home more centrally located in Boulder City, Villa Del Prado is a good choice. The community has one and two story homes with fairly large size lots. Resales are fairly steady in Boulder City for most communities.

For more information about Boulder City, including listings of current Boulder City homes for sale, call 702-493-8033 or email me at info@lvrealty.net -cr
